The building overlooks Piazza delle Coppelle on one side and Via della Maddalena on the other and houses Senators' offices, logistic services and storage spaces. Since July 2003, the Senate InformEduc@tion Centre and Bookshop has been located here, with access from the entrance at number 27 of Via della Maddalena.

The Centre was created with the purpose of drawing citizens closer to the Senate, disseminating information on the activities of the Senate and making documentation on parliamentary business and Senate publications available.
