Schools
Schools interested in attending debates during the 2013-14 school-year should send a request filling the form "Request to attend a Senate debate".
Only pupils at least in their 1st secondary-school year are admitted.
In general, before attending a sitting, schoolkids gather in the Senate InformEduc@tion Centre where they are given an explanation of the Senate activity and what they are going to see from the public gallery.
The total time required is approximately two hours.
The maximum number of people for each group is 30.
Subject to availability, dates are fixed chronologically until the end of the period according to the order in which requests are received and they may be changed, even with short notice, for reasons connected to parliamentary business.
A guided tour of Palazzo Madama can only take place when the Senate does not sit and is therefore not included.
Please note that, should the sitting be adjourned, the public is not allowed into the gallery and no alternative activity is provided.
In order to open the Senate to the largest possible number of groups, only one visit per year may be requested by each school, choosing between a guided tour or attending a sitting.
Appropriate clothing is required.
