The Senate of the Republic and the Finance Police (Guardia di Finanza) have drafted a report on counterfeit Made in Italy products, shedding light on a phenomenon that jeopardises health, security and the Italian productive system. The report provides a picture of the counterfeiting situation and of the preservation of Made in Italy products, zeroing-in on judicial profiles, economic implications and the activities conducted by the pertinent authorities. The Made in Italy brand is among the most renowned in the world, which clearly shows how important it is to safeguard it, to strengthen our enterprises from a commercial standpoint. Over the past five years (2012-2016) the Finance Police has conducted about 60,000 judicial police actions, seized one billion products worth 10.8 billion Euros and put down 1,614 websites (620 in 2016 alone).
